  Today at the Hawaii State Capitol the Tourism, Cultural and International Affairs Committee heard HCR277 and HR199 which state that Hawaii would recognize cockfighting as a cultural activity. The hearing was held at 9:30AM at the State Capitol, conference room 312. Keoni attended the hearing and reported from the hearing via Twitter (check out of Twitter page for his Tweets), he said it was standing room only and there must have been about 50+ supporters of the bill there while a handfull of opposition showed up.

  He says 100% of the opposition there were women mostly of "european" ethnicity as Inga Gibson (of the HS of the US) put it. Keoni was pretty pissed at Inga and her insisting that the dark skinned people in the room were into criminal activity. She said "take a look around and let the room speak for itself, you can see who supports this criminal activity" being everyone who was there in support of it was dark skinned (Hawaiian's, Filipino's, Local Filipino's, and Japanese's), all the opposition were white except one Filipino woman and a Korean woman. 

  Keoni said none of the Caucasian's spoke about the cultural aspects of cockfighting but always compared cockfighting to human rights violations like slavery and wife beating. It seems their arguments were pretty weak but they did have their form letters out there en-mass for the droves of the uninformed to fill out and mail in being they can't articulate a good reason why it shouldn't be a cultural activity and recognized as such. UPDATE: Both HCR277 and HR199 PASSED with amendments with a 4-2 vote and they are now headed the the House Judiciary Committee. Good times!

  The cocking fraternity world over has lost a great brother in Bill Baumgardner. Bill passed away March 21st around 7PM after a long battle with Cancer (which he says women caused lol). He is known all over the world for his great sense of humor, great Clarets and Hatches and his honesty and he will truely be missed by many a friends. We ask that you have a prayer for Bill and his family to your deity of choice. Take care Bill and we all hope you are in a much better place.

The Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) is reporting that Feld Entertainment, the parent company of Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, is suing everyone that was involved in a lawsuit brought against Feld Entertainment.

This is really going to be interesting but I highly doubt anything is going to come about from this. If it was brought to the attention of the major media outlets than it may open up the eyes of more people but I think in the long run nothing will happen to the HSUS or other Animal Rights groups.

But I must say, I'm rooting for you Feld!
