The Murtishaw Blues were originally bred in England and brought to America in the 1800's by Bill Murtishaw. The Murtishaw Blues were bred of a three way cross which consisted of Chesher Pyle, English Blue Dun and Earl of Derby fowl. This cross worked well and proved to be game, high flying and good cutting fowl. This strain of Blues went into the Carolina Blues, Mountain Eagles and as well as the famous Warhorse breed of fowl.
